My “Service Engine Soon” light is on. What should I do?

A check engine light is no reason to panic. It simply means that your car’s computer has identified something that is not working up to the proper standards. Generally, a check engine light is not a very serious issue. It is a good idea at least to get it diagnosed so that you know what is wrong and then you can go from there.
